Gaseous releases occurred roughly every 15 minutes, while liquid spills occurred every six to seven hours. 😳
Today @wildearthgaurdians will release the 2025 New Mexico Oil and Gas Spill Report, documenting chronic pollution from oil and gas operations across the state, endorsed by over 20 organizations calling for stronger accountability and enforcement.
The report finds that spilling is not a series of isolated accidents, but a routine and predictable outcome of oil and gas production in New Mexico, driven largely by a small group of repeat-offender operators, and predominantly occurring on public lands.
