Already one of the biggest polluters in New Mexico, OXY reported a ginormous spill on July 15th in Lea County on federal public land.
Over 20,000 barrels of crude oil AND over 34,000 barrels of toxic waste were “lost” when a piece of equipment failed, spewing pollutants into the landscape.
A new trade group called WATR, which includes
Occidental on their board, are proposing a new rule for the reuse of fracking waste in NM.
This would overturn the good rule we all helped pass in May prohibiting fracking waste reuse.
👏👏Take action by emailing the Water Quality control commission today.
