Oil and gas companies spill an average 4 times in New Mexico every single day! 😩😩

Ameredev Operating, spilled 435 barrels of toxic waste called ā€œproduced waterā€ in Lea County in June 2024. That’s over 18,000 gallons!

In 2022, Ameredev spilled 511 barrels (21,462 gallons) of produced water from a failed pipe and polluted a watershed.

😔😔Ameredev hasn’t been fined for either of these large spills.

ā€œProduced waterā€ contains toxic chemicals that industry can keep hidden as ā€œtrade secrets,ā€ which means we don’t know what’s been spilled or how dangerous it is.

It’s time to change the law in NM to put public health over profits.
