🛢️Did you know that one barrel of oil produces 3-10 barrels of toxic liquids full of hazardous chemicals and radioactive materials?

☢️ Most people don't know that oil production unleashes radioactivity from deep underground, or that the industry spills many times a day. In New Mexico, back in August, a 4" pipe carrying these toxic fluids ruptured, spilling over 107 barrels (4,519 gallons) into a nearby arroyo on public land.

🏆 The company responsible, Mewbourne Oil, is one of 2024's top ten spillers of this material in New Mexico. Many companies, including Mewbourne, keep some of the chemicals they use secret. So when these spills happen, there's no way to know what's actually been spilled. We need to know what chemicals are in oilfield spills, especially when waterways are impacted.

✍️ Sign the petition calling on New Mexico to require companies to disclose all their chemicals in the link in our bio. Comment that you did below, and we'll see you next week!
