Chevron receives another comprimise from state officials on clean up of spills.

This episode features a company we bet you already know – Chevron – who has spilled almost 1 million gallons of oil and toxic waste in New Mexico the past 10 years.
One of Chevron's biggest spills was in 2017 when a pipe carrying liquid waste failed, spewing over 1,000 Barrels. Today, state officials consider this spill "remediated" but during clean up they had to "compromise" with Chevron because the spill flowed along a high-pressure gas pipeline, and shutting it down to do a full clean up would have meant a "significant...loss of production."
Apparently they just cleaned it up the best they could.
How many times do state officials compromise on clean up? That's a great question! Hopefully it's only as often as they issue violations for these spills, which is next to never.
We need to pressure officials to hold companies accountable. Help us spread the word by sharing this post & signing the petition in our bio. See you next week!
